Configuring Custom Directory Data Layout
As AMO has been growing and developing further here – we’ve now created an entire Custom Member Directory system!
We’ll be covering in-depth on how to setup the different data tables, data field options and the overall layout of the Custom Directory system.
This same article instructions will apply both to the Individual & Organization Custom Directories as they both use a similar setup to display the data.
1. Head to Website Management > Member Directories, click the pencil edit icon to open up the Custom Directory
2. Click the Directory Layout tab to start configuring the directory
When you first get to this screen, you’ll see there are Header A1, Header B1, Header C1, etc. fields to select.
These Header fields are the Directories header sorting fields – think of these as the table sort options you’ll have to allow people to filter data in the directory.
Below the Header fields you’ll also see the Data A1, Data B1, Data C1, etc. fields to also select and configure.
These Data fields are the different data sections that you’ll be able to select what exactly appears on the directory below after selecting the Search Options and clicking Search button on the directory.
Here’s a few screenshots of a setup example and what the directory can look like after being fully setup:
3. To start configuring these – click the Header A1 link, enter a Header Title and you can click these pre-filled data areas to insert the Header Sort details:
4. After creating the Header A1 area – click the Data A1 link next and you’ll then be able to select the data that will be displayed on the directory after Search is clicked
5. Make sure to click the “Click to preview” link to view the directory as you build these out, you’ll follow the same instructions above here for the relative Header A2, Data A2.. and so on to customize the full directory here.
